Pacific Whey Café & Baking Company recently opened its fourth location at South Coast Plaza. Pacific Whey, based in Orange County, is known for its homemade comfort food (made from scratch), tempting pastries, and breakfast served all day.
The extensive breakfast options include omelets, crepes, breakfast burritos, quesadillas, and filet mignon and eggs any style.
At lunch and dinner the choices range from custom-ordered vegetarian and ground sirloin burgers, grilled sandwiches, cold sandwiches, and entrée salads.
Plus there are the comfort food specials: filet mignon over biscuits; and Pacific Whey pot pie, an upside down version, where the bowl is the crust. Other choices include made-from-scratch lasagna, with ground sirloin or spinach and artichoke; old fashioned meatloaf with port wine mushroom sauce; and the best-selling Pacific Whey summer salad, a blend of field greens, Medjool dates, carrots, red onion, goat cheese, toasted walnuts, strawberries and grapes tossed with strawberry vinaigrette.
Or just pick up delicious bakery items to go. Popular items include cinnamon custard Danish, cinnamon rolls, flourless chocolate torte, cobblers, bread pudding, cake and pies. A dozen varieties of cookies are baked fresh daily, including their signature oatmeal cherry toffee and bittersweet chocolate espresso.
Pacific Whey’s ambience has a classic European feel, with a Carrera marble pastry case, silver patina ceiling, vintage posters and community tables.
Lunch begins at 11 a.m. and dinner is served from 5 p.m. Open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
