GLASSY ART
Internationally renowned artist Caleb Siemon presents his glass-blowing process Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Design Within Reach at Fashion Island.
Siemon, an Orange County local, creates beautiful modern glass art using centuries old Italian glass blowing techniques. The prestigious Salviati glass company in Venice even chose Siemon to design a limited edition series.
Siemon's recent collection includes a variety of bowls and vases with swirled banded colors: amber, aqua, amethyst, scarlet and an opaque ivory and white.
At the presentation at Design Within Reach, you can enter to win a Caleb Siemon design, and Chef Florent Marneau will provide appetizers from Marche Moderne, a restaurant opening soon at South Coast Plaza.
His sought-after glass designs are found in museums and galleries throughout the world. And Caleb Siemon's work can be purchased at the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach; R. Thompson Artworks in Newport Beach; Zschoche of Newport Beach; The Rubell Collection in Anaheim; Aris in Laguna Beach; and Artisance in Laguna Beach.
