VIVA TACO ROSA!



Ever just get a stray craving for a Mexican breakfast, but don't know where to go?

In Orange County, you now have at least two great choices with the opening of the second Taco Rosa restaurant, this one at The Market Place in Irvine. (The popular flagship Taco Rosa is at the Newport Hills Shopping Center in Newport Beach.)

The restaurants are just great finds for healthy, fresh Mexican cuisine in a casual, cantina-style setting. The menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner is an amalgam of pre-Columbian cooking influences from Spanish, French and Southwestern cuisines.

Walk in and get a multi-sensory treat: the aroma of melting chocolate at the chocolate fountain and sight of the churro station, where handmade fresh churros are made.

Favorites on the menu include baked carnitas pibil, salmon tacos with papaya butter sauce, blackened chicken breast burrito, parrilladas (combination platters for two or more), mar y tierra (lobster and filet mignon), along with fiestas Mexicanas specials, a celebrated traditional Mexican feasts.

And you’ll be just as satisfied with classics: enchiladas, tacos, tostadas, burritos, quesadillas and tortas. And the kids meals and desserts get rave reviews: try the homemade flan and sopapillas (puffed pastries served with vanilla ice cream).
