TAKEOUT, GOURMET STYLE
A la Carte Gourmet doesn't need an introduction to Laguna locals. For 22 years it's served as the town's lifesaver for gourmet take-out deli foods, serving international foods, soups, sandwiches, and picnic meals on the go.
The variety of deli salads, sandwiches, tacos, and even fresh sushi prepared by master chef Kurihara pleases all tastes. Favorites from die-hard regulars include the addicting Cajun chicken breast sandwich with jalapeno, onions, jalapeno jelly and provolone; the spicy Thai noodles in peanut sauce; and the Chinese chicken salad. In-the-know customers order meals online for speedy service.
Stop in for a cup of Diedrich Coffee (one of the few remaining spots that still serves the delicious coffee) and enjoy one of their fresh giant cookies or pastries: strawberry cobbler, pumpkin cobbler, Budapest bar (a cinnamon spice cake), mango bar, key lime bar, or more.
Owner Estrella Harrington knows how to run a great business. She won Business Woman of 2006 from the California Business Advisory Council. Harrington serves original recipes from a la Carte's successful past, and even offers delivery and full-service catering.
