THE WILD LIFE IN PHOTOS
Avanti Café in Costa Mesa hosts an opening reception today from 7 to 9 p.m. for OC photographer Nathan Gerdes.
His art captures the beauty of outdoors. Raised backpacking, traveling and climbing, Gerdes' love for nature grew as he did. He captures 25 breathtaking images, from endless vistas to perplexing close-ups, for those who might not have the chance to see it firsthand.
"As an organic, vegetarian restaurant, Avanti Café is a natural fit for my outdoor scenes," Gerdes says.
Avanti will offer complimentary appetizers and drink specials during the reception.
Gerdes photos are displayed through Oct. 11. Open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Avanti Café is at 259 E. 17th St. in Costa Mesa. 949.548.2224.
