SLOW GOOD!

Are you looking for the ultimate hole-in-the-wall restaurant that will make you the envy of all your foodie friends? Check out the new Slow Fish in Huntington Beach.

It's a casual, yet elegant sushi-based, contemporary Korean fusion dining spot. This is the place to try rare black sushi rice, rich in color and nothing like you've seen or tasted before. They say it's the finest form of black rice from Korea and the healthiest in the world.

Owner John Lee named Slow Fish in honor of the principles of the slow food movement. He serves healthy foods that are intended to be savored in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Slow Food is an organization committed to counteracting fast food and fast lifestyles. It supports local food traditions and inspires interest in foods. It educates people about foods: their origins, tastes, and how food choices affect the world.

Two artistic chefs, sushi chef Kriz Chong and award-winning chef Sean An, contribute to Slow Fish's incredible menu. Try the fat avo, an "apple" of seared seasoned albacore tuna wrapped in avocado slices; or succulent kiwi marinated short ribs; and the Slow house salad features crisp field greens topped with Chef An’s spicy, dressed tuna. The neighborhood favorite is "dancing porky", a wonderful spicy marinated pork; and the seaweed salad is to die for: three varieties of marinated seaweed. We also love the delicious orange scallop, lightly fried fresh jumbo scallops with orange miso dressing.

Open for lunch 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; open for dinner 5 to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 5 to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday; and 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday.
