THE ART OF SPOOKINESS
The Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach reemerges as a creepy place Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Halloween from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Pageant of the Monsters "Night of the Living Art" interactive, backstage Haunted House.
Be prepared for frightening fun. The festival's super creative team of artists and technicians revived this acclaimed haunted event from years past.
Revealing dark secrets of the theater, a phantom impresario greets and directs guests through the winding backstage corridors where spirits of long dead actors, dancers and singers appear. There's also a medieval catacomb, a ghostly séance, a spooky cemetery, a torture chamber and many more dark surprises.
Other spook-tacular elements include scary movies, an alien autopsy, a demented chef, and fortune tellers.
And you can don your best costume at the Monsters' Masquerade Ball fund-raising event on Sunday, from 5 to 9:30 p.m. The night includes a cocktail hour, dinner, music, dancing at Tivoli Terrace, the interactive Haunted House, and a costume contest. Admission $100, must be at least 21.

SHOP AND SAVE FOR A CAUSE
Bloomingdale’s at South Coast Plaza hosts a charity shopping day on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. You can purchase $5 advance and $10 at the door donation tickets that will be split among numerous charities, PCRF (Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation) being one. Shoppers will receive a 15% discount on items when they use their donation ticket.
