Orchard Hills Village Center in Irvine was evacuated last weekend because of the Santiago fire, so its opening celebration Sunday takes on a special meaning to the merchants and community.
Shop and dine at the center and 10% of the money you spend will go to the Irvine Public Schools Foundation or the Tustin Public Schools Foundation, whichever you prefer.
Visitors can also enjoy live music, face painting and a balloon artist for children, as well as in-store events and opportunity drawings.
Just present your receipts for the charitable donation, and receive opportunity tickets to win prizes, including a Day at the Spa from Bellagio, a $500 Pavilions gift card, gift baskets from various stores and more.
A small sampling of in-store activities and giveaways: Ayame Fine Japanese Cuisine offers food sampling; at Beauty Source, children can make a colorful beaded bracelet and visitors can enter to win a gift basket of health and beauty products; Bellagio Spa & Salon is giving a mini-massage, hors d’oeuvres and enter-to-win giveaways, including a beach cruiser; at Golden Spoon, customers can receive one free 8 oz. frozen yogurt; La Sirena Grill gives complimentary food and drink samples; Lilikoi Boutique is featuring informal modeling and refreshments throughout the day.

HELP VICTIMS OF FIRE
The LAB and CAMP shopping centers tenants are asking Good Samaritans to bring "comforts of home" gifts to the drop off bucket located within the LAB’s living room in front of the Crew Salon. Donations requested would include toiletries, pajamas (children and adult sizes), new blankets, towels and pillows. These donations will be picked up daily and forwarded to those in need. LAB/CAMP management has kicked off the effort with a donation of toiletries.
The LAB anti-mall is at 2930 Bristol St., Costa Mesa, a half-mile south of the 405 freeway.
