Enjoy a cool late summer treat in Old Towne Orange at the new Café Lucca that serves fresh Italian gelato daily.

Café Lucca is also a casual Italian café and bakery with a just-right old world ambience. Finishing decorating touches include an entry-way mural depicting an Italian scene, an original pressed-tin ceiling, and from nearby Tony’s Architectural Salvage, vintage doors, windows and light fixtures.

Each morning a baker prepares family recipes, including fresh Madeleines, pecan bars, fruit tarts and biscotti. Other Italian specialty pastries come from Rockwell’s Bakery in Villa Park, a famous local baker.

Café favorites are served daily from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., including grilled panini, minestrone soup and tasty salads like al fresco with prosciutto, salami, goat cheese, sweet pepper caponata and kalamata olives. Specialties include slowly roasted prime rib and leg of lamb that tastes heavenly between demi baguettes.

The fresh gelato comes in 16 flavors and are made daily. You can finish any meal with great-tasting fresh coffees come from Caffé D'arte, an Italian roaster in Seattle.
