How would you like Chef Jamie Gwen to cook for you?
That's right, THAT Jamie Gwen. The chef who hosts the lively and informative food lover's show Saturdays on 790 KABC-AM. Who serves as the food correspondent on "Good Day, LA." Who can be seen on the Home Shopping Network (HSN) with her signature "Chef Jamie" Food Line.
On Saturday, Jamie will prepare for you an extravagant five-course dinner at the Anaheim White House. The meal will offer a sneak peek into her upcoming cookbook, "Good Food for Good Times," (on bookshelves in December).
Cost is $85 is per person, $125 with wines (tax and gratuity not included).
Jamie is not just a TV and radio personality. She's a formally trained chef and sommelier, graduating from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in New York. And it's a rare treat to have her cook for you.
The award-winning Anaheim White House restaurant is in a historic mansion built around 1909.
Jamie's menu:
First course: Heirloom tomatoes with burrata cheese and truffle oil; sun-dried tomato bread knots; and yellow tomato "shooter."
Second course: Eggplant timbale with cavatelli pasta.
Third Course: Belgian endive and pear salad tossed with gorgonzola and hazelnuts.
Fourth Course: Tender duck breast served with cranberry cabernet sauce, rapini broccoli and duckfat French fries.
Dessert: A grown-up version of "Rice Krispy" treats made with grand marnier, bittersweet chocolate and cherry compote.
