DRINK IN THIS JAPANESE TAVERN!
WaSa Sushi's three restaurants in OC are considered by many (and us) to be OC's premiere sushi establishments. And we love the new Izakaya WaSa restaurant that recently opened in the Irvine Spectrum. It's a casual Japanese tavern with small plate offerings.
You can sample classic Japanese tapas and order WaSa's incredible sushi specialties. You must try WaSa's excellent "treasures," including seared yellowtail with jalapeno, ahi tuna with wasabi sour cream; lightly seared toro drizzled with garlic ponzu sauce, garnished with green onions; and it's signature spicy tuna tartar with wasabi sour cream and served with wonton crostini.
The menu focuses on traditional Japanese tapas, such as Kakuni (marinated pork belly), diced garlic steak, Maui onion salad, agedashi tofu (fried tofu), and a delicious selection of yakitori. And save room for everyone's favorite dessert at WaSa: tempura green tea ice cream!
Izakaya WaSa also offers a generous selection of sake and Japanese beer, to satisfy sake experts to novice guests. The ambience is perfect: clean and contemporary with white walls and ash gray leather booths, and behind the sushi bar, a carving that depicts leafless cherry tree branches
