Enough of the shopping and dining (for one day only). It's time for some culture.
You can view China's terra cotta warriors -- the eighth wonder of the ancient world -- now through Oct. 12 at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana.
"Terra Cotta Warriors: Guardians of China's First Emperor" is the largest exhibit of Emperor Qin's Terra Cotta Army ever seen outside of China.
The Bowers Museum exhibit features 20 life-size terra cotta figures and 100 artifacts dating from 210 BC.
At 13 years of age, China's First Emperor assigned more than 700,000 laborers to construct a giant mausoleum with an army of 7,000 terracotta soldiers to protect him and enforce his rule in the afterlife.
PIMCO is sponsoring free Friday nights! Free admission for up to 100 visitors per hour at 4, 5, 6 and 7 p.m.

The terra cotta army consisted of soldiers, servants, musicians, acrobats, and animals that lay hidden underground for 2,000 years until Chinese farmers discovered a terra cotta head in 1974.
