Furniture connoisseurs and admirers of the British Royal Family can attend a rare lecture by Princess Diana's brother, Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. at von Hemert Interiors Costa Mesa showroom.
Charles Spencer shares the collection of fine furniture reproduced from Althorp, the Spencers' ancestral estate. Charles Spencer joined with Theodore Alexander, a maker of fine 18th and 19th century reproductions, to offer furniture aficionados a part of history. And a portion of the proceeds from the collection helps preserve Althorp.
The Althorp collection includes hundreds of museum quality furniture and accessory pieces. The same details found on originals at the Spencer's 500-year-old estate were carefully reproduced with detailed hand carvings and wax casting techniques.
