Unwind with friends while creating a one-of-a-kind gift at Pure Light, a peaceful Laguna Beach studio and store near the Sawdust Festival.
Founder Judy Kelly created a unique space to create custom candles, shop for nature-inspired gifts, and even celebrate a special event with a fun candle-making party!
It's simple to make a candle at Pure Light. Just choose a scent--27 choices in all. Then select from 30 different sizes and shapes--squares, stars, flowers, ovals and more.
You can add embellishments--from large and small wax stars, moons, dragonflies even sophisticated metal inspirational tokens.
Finally, select from an array of colors, and you're ready! Pure Light pours in binding wax and cools your creation. Candles take from one to three hours to cool, depending on the size. Express cool is available for $5 extra.
While waiting for your candle, you can shop from candle accessories, delicate jewelry, whimsical mobiles, handmade soaps, handcrafted treasures from Bali, home furnishings and more.
You can also enjoy a catered meal at Pure Light. There's a perfect spot for groups of four or more, and you can enjoy candle making with a wine and cheese platter! (The incredible Laguna Culinary Arts Gourmet Cheese and Wine Shop is just across the way.)
Prices range from $10-$36, depending on your selected candle shape, size and design embellishments. Small wax embellishments cost $.50 each; large embellishments cost $1 each; a scoop of mini shells costs $1.50; and assorted tokens cost $2-$7 each.
Walk-ins are welcome; larger groups of four or more may want to reserve a table.

THE CHRISTMAS COMPANY RETURNS!
Are you ready to kick-off the holiday shopping season? You can get a start at the Christmas Company shopping extravaganza arriving Thursday through Sunday at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa. The signature fundraiser of the Junior League of Orange County celebrates its 33rd anniversary with the theme "A Holiday to Remember." A record number of exhibitors are participating, and 40% of them are new! Shop from more than 120 unique exhibitors and vendors from Orange County and around the country. During the four-day Christmas Company run, the Junior League holds special events including a Preferred Shopping Breakfast ($35) from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday; Girls Night Out" ($20) from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday; and an "Evening of Food & Wine" ($75) from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday. General admission is $10. Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
