ART TO THE MAX!
A slice of psychedelic nostalgia comes to Orange County today when Peter Max visits Wentworth Gallery in Laguna Beach from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday at Fashion Island in Newport Beach from 6 to 9 p.m.
Max brings with him more than 100 works of art, including his original paintings, drawings, and limited-edition prints. Max’s art depicts a pop dream world, which has made him a cultural icon for more than 40 years.
He’s painted six U.S. presidents and his murals greet millions entering the U.S. Border each year. His work adorns a jumbo jet in the Continental Airlines fleet and he's been the official artist of six Super Bowls, six Grammy Awards, the World Cup USA, the World Series, and the United Nations Earth Summit.
Max’s work ranges from the well-known "Cosmic" images, to his iconic paintings, such as the "Statue of Liberty," and "Flag with Heart."
