Clutch for a Cause!
08.31.11
If there’s one luxe handbag on your want list, make it a one-of-a-kind Judith Leiber minaudière to benefit Festival of Children Foundation, an OC-based nonprofit that’s improving the lives of children. The iconic American luxury brand created the limited edition bag, with all proceeds from tickets sales benefiting Festival of Children Foundation. You could be the lucky winner of the special Swarosvki crystal clutch featuring the Festival of Children’s carousel horse logo, but you need to purchase an opportunity ticket. (Only 100 tickets will be sold at $100 each for this rare luxe handbag.)
The bag will debut at Festival of Children Foundation’s private opening night party Thursday at South Coast Plaza. Tickets to win the bag will be available through September in the Judith Leiber boutique at South Coast Plaza until all tickets are sold. The winner will be chosen on September 29.
Level 1, in the Nordstrom wing at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. 714.549.7177.

Just a Doll
08.30.11
Greer's OC recently sat down with Debbie Askew to chat about Doll Boutique for Riviera Orange County | Modern Luxury.
At the former Lola Rouge in Costa Mesa, Askew branched out from her sister, Sandy Askew Johnson, and from their co-owned Lola Rouge concept (still going strong at Fashion Island) and opened her own Doll Boutique in May.
Doll is a fresh look, gone are the black and reds, and in are the whites and yellows. And it carries a mix of affordable apparel lines, few high-end ones, new home decor and gift room and much more.

Vintage Inspired
08.26.11
At Briana Rene, one of the newest boutiques that just opened at the OC Mart Mix in Costa Mesa, expect to find vintage inspired lingerie, handmade jewelry and unusual designers that you’re not going to find everywhere else.
Owner and designer Briana Ellison has been designing jewelry (earrings, leather pieces and necklaces) for several years, and just started a lingerie line that includes “bloomer bottoms”--sort of a boy short, yet super feminine and fuller cut.
She also carries a Pretense t-shirt line made in Costa Mesa from organic cottons and dyes; as well as a men’s wear line for women called Maison Scotch from Amsterdam with intricate details that you don’t see often; vintage inspired Dirty Dolls lingerie with 1940’s high-waisted panties and more; and J.P. Mattes bags made from recycled saris.
Open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
3313 Hyland Ave. in Costa Mesa. 949.290.4829.
