HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHAMELEON!

Studio Chameleon, one of our favorite home design stores and art galleries, is celebrating its first anniversary Thursday with special lectures, helpful demonstrations, and a reception for renowned artist Liz Jardine.

And any guest who places an order or purchases an item in the Newport Beach store Thursday will receive an opportunity ticket to win a beautiful oil diptych by Liz Jardine worth $1,900.

Thursday’s celebration will include a 10:30 a.m. lecture on designing outdoor spaces by Eve Lowey, president of Chameleon Design; a noon session on Grouping Eclectic Accessories by Julie Werner, vice president/design of Chameleon Design; and tips on hanging art at 2 p.m. by Eve Lowey.

From 4 to 7 p.m., customers can meet acclaimed artist Liz Jardine, whose work is featured at Studio Chameleon as well as other galleries around the world. Jardine is a San Diego artist who grew up in New York City. Much of her inspiration comes from New York City’s Broadway shows’ color and lighting combinations and nature’s color palettes. She has used a wide variety of media in her work from textile design to clay forms. She enjoys watercolors; collage of transparent imagery combined with translucent water-base mediums, and currently favors acrylics for their texturing and form-building abilities.

Studio Chameleon offers the finest in furniture, fabrics, household items and gifts, as well as fine art. The staff specializes in assisting customers and working in partnership with them for every design need – from the smallest to the largest projects.
