PERFECT RECEPTION AT STUDIO CHAMELEON
We love the paintings of San Francisco’s Joan Elan Davis, so we’re looking forward to the reception at Studio Chameleon for the acclaimed artist on Wednesday, July 9th from 4 to 7 p.m. to preview her newest work.
Davis works from tiny elements, studying the patterns inside a plant, a seed or the surface of a stone and expands the line, shape and form of the object scaling them to grander proportions. Patterns that arise in nature are simplified into a single line or shape in Davis’ work and placed in a rainbow of color that creates an environment rich with energy and depth.
She recently studied nature and painting at Anderson Ranch just outside of Aspen, Colorado and the collection of paintings, “Natural Notations,” resulted from that experience and continues to develop in her San Francisco studio.
If you haven’t checked out Studio Chameleon yet, this reception would be the perfect time. The unique store in Westcliff Court blends fine art from internationally acclaimed artists like Joan Elan Davis with the finest furnishings, accessories and gifts. You have to visit to understand the experience. Owned by award-winning interior designer (and super friendly) Eve Lowey and her partner Darsi Rubin, the store’s talented staff is always available to share their gifts with you.
