Violent Wind, A Charity Dinner
11.15.20
Joshua Lozano, an Orange County native and chef who runs Uprising OC, pop-up bakery and coffee bar down on Balboa Island is known for creating Orange County‘s original Basque-style cheesecake called the rebel cheesecake. Now, he’s hosting a charity pop-up dinner at Vacation Bar in Santa Ana with friends on Thursday, November 19 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Because of COVID indoor dining restrictions, indoor and patio dining is subject to change.
$100 each paid directly to Joshua Lozanzo through Venmo at joshua_levitate, just put VIOLENT WIND in the comments.
Funds from the charity dinner will support the 9th Annual Turkey Drive by Chicano Mentoring Association and Bishop Rotary on Sunday, November 22 in Santa Ana.
Last year they sponsored 200 families. It grows more each year. This year, they are sponsoring 250 local families with full thanksgiving meal kits. With funds raised, they will purchase and pre-pack boxes with everything needed for a full spread.
This year is a bit different because of COVID, they are being very careful with precautions and assigning only a certain amount of pickups per hour. They are covered on help for the event, but are seeking donated funds. It’s approximately $50 per meal box which covers a family of 6-8. Any bit helps.
Donations can be made online through bishoptattoosupply.com (search “turkey drive”), or cash drop off to Bishop Tattoo Supply in Lake Forest (attn: Emily). Items are all pre-ordered and picked up the morning of.
Chicano Mentoring gets all the credit for working with local family resource centers to reach the families in the community who would benefit the most. Bishop tattoo supply is honored to support this event each year and looks forward to its growth to come.
Vacation Bar is at 204 W 4th St. in Santa Ana.
