Free Screening ‘Climate Refugees’

11.30.10

Newport Beach Film Fest is kicking off Cinema Sage Hill this Wednesday at 7 p.m. with a free screening of the documentary “Climate Refugees”, followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Justin Hogan.

The film uncovers the unbelievable plight of people around the world displaced by climatically induced environmental disasters. It chronicles several of the 25 million climate refugees, along with scholars, politicians and more facing overpopulation, lack of resources, and a changing climate. Climate Refugees screened at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and won an Outstanding Achievement in Documentary Filmmaking award at the 2010 Newport Beach Film Festival.

The Newport Beach Film Festival and The Studio at Sage Hill are offering a free monthly film series showcasing diverse and thought provoking independent documentary films from around the world. The Studio at Sage Hill is at 20402 Newport Coast Drive in Newport Coast.
